Arriving at the Festival

As you pull into Castle Drive and follow the winding track to the Warwick Castle over flow car park you are surrounded on all sides by trees. Eventually the road opens out to beautiful green fields, at which point you will meet our lovely Welcome Team who will guide you where to go.

By car you can park in our car park or you will be directed down the side of the field to the campsite where our stewards will be checking your entry passes, so have them ready!

If you are coming for the day you will probably enter the festival site through our beautiful “castle” entrance which has been hand painted by our volunteers and provided by one of our local sponsors. You will find friendly staff on hand to help you, and our box office is just inside the gate on your left. There are also toilets and one of our stages – the popular Avon tent right by the entrance here. The other important thing to mention here is the bus stop! There are two – one just outside the gate for the coach which will take you directly in to Warwick Town Centre. The other is our buggy stop. The buggies will take you around the site to each venue and you can even phone them to ride on demand.

Onto the Festival Site

As you move further in to our festival village you will find there are many vibrant craft stalls to your left and the children’s festival to your right. The children’s festival contains brilliant opportunities like circus skills, musical workshops, face painting and much more!

You’ll hear all kinds of sounds over the festival site – music, laughter, Morris dancing, drums, bells jingling, unusual sounds like whistles and squeaks, and more! You might hear some loud sounds like vehicles moving around or the machinery that empties out the toilets.

Now, as we move even further in to the festival you will come across the Living Tradition tent – which is our more acoustic venue, and next door is one of our workshop spaces where you can learn all sorts of exciting things from the folk world! Lots of our workshops are run by our booked artists, so it is an opportunity to meet some of your favourite folkies!

Children’s Show on the Stephen Boyer busking stage

Middle of the Village

In the centre of the field is our Stephen Boyer busking stage. This stage was named after a long standing member of the Warwick Folk community who sadly died in 2023. Steve was the ultimate music man who cared deeply about access to music in Warwick and surrounding towns – and we were fortunate to know him. On Steve’s stage you’ll find some marvellous musicians, and street performers – including entertainment from our friend Wolly the clown!

To your right you might notice more craft traders, including Imogen the blacksmith who will show you how to craft beautiful items.

Food, Drinks and Craft

Then we move into the main food and drinks area of the festival village – set in a circular enclosure and featuring the Jester stage, which is an open sided stage where you will see a wide variety of music and dance performances. There are more toilets in this area, and the seating area where you can eat some of your delicious food. The ice cream van won’t be far away and you will be able to pick from fish and chips, jacket potatoes, curries, burrito style wraps, toasties and more. There is certainly plenty of choice!

There will be some more craft traders here, including musical instrument stalls and “Roots Records” which is where you can buy CDs featuring all of our artists and more! You will also be able to find  another workshop tent, the information tent, and merchandise stall on the back of the Jester stage.

The Main Stage

As you move from the food and drinks area you will find the “health” centre – the medics and our accessible campsite. We also have stalls including the charity Mind.

Now we reach the point where we enter into the Kingmaker field – on your left will be our enormous blue marquee where the Kingmaker stage can be found. In front of you you’ll see the main festival campsite and on your far right are the festival showers and toilets for campers.

If you walk down this field you will find the last venue on the festival site – which is the Ted Crum Dance House. In here you’ll experience dance workshops, yoga and ceilidhs. It’s a special place! If the walk is a little too far then climb into one of our buggies who will take you down the field in just few minutes.
