Warwick Folk Festival 2022

Travel around the festival

The main festival site is a self contained green field site next to the river avon.
All venues and camping can be found a short walking distance from each other.

Pedestrian entering festival site

For pedestrians, the only way into the festival grounds is through the Main Entrance (at the top of the map – it’s a festival temporary castle arch).  The box office is next to the main entrance.

On-Site Festival Buggies

Once on site it is all fairly compact and easy to walk around.  We also have three buggies on site so if you’re fed up of walking by then, you can call/ wait for/ flag down a buggy and get a lift to the Kingmaker stage 🙂  These buggies help those with limited mobility (or just plain worn out), with one of the buggies also being wheelchair adapted.

Walking into town

Being a 15 minute walk from the town centre, we recommend where possible travelling on foot.  Either enjoy the walk along the castle walls, or head off up the Stratford Road and past the church where JRR Tolkien got married!

It is a little under a mile depending on where in Warwick you start. Your walk would take you down the High Street, and West Street, and then left onto Warwick Castle Drive.  There is a walking path that will take you around the edges of the Knights Village and into the site.

There is another route that takes you through the castle walls – it is a well lit foot path. There are no alternative foot paths.

Festival Bus into Town

Alternatively, we also provide a free festival bus between the main site and the centre of town each day of the festival. Approximate timetable below.

The bus picks up from four places in town  and will drop you right at the main entrance.  The route is on the Town map. You can generally expect the bus to come by every 30 minutes but the timings are not guaranteed – Please be aware that the driver needs to take a breaks so although we aim for every half hour, the is a big gap over lunch and tea times.

Taxis

Taxi – In general Warwick has pretty good availability of Taxis.  Uber is an option and if you are staying locally, speak to your hotel reception I am sure they will have a number for a reputable taxi company which again can drop you at the main entrance to the festival.
